Here is what the group is saying:

What are some of the things you would like to see “more” or “less” of?

We organized the comments into 4 sections to help focus the basic sentiment of the group: General comments, Discussion, Job and Miscellaneous comments.

These were verbatim cut and pasted.  We did remove unrelated or “promotional” comments. We take these comments seriously and will take action were we feel it will improve the group experience. Thank you all for participating.

General Comments:

  • Great job, keep going!
  • I enjoy the present format.
  • less promotion of self announcements.
  • Less emails
  • Less chatter and more fact.
  • like Business reviews - news - jobs -
  • more aviation jobs.
  • "Industry topics, User polls and shared responses"
  • "less posts for sales of aircrafts more business leads"
  • Very happy with current content. Good to catch up on latest things happening.
  • Less general discussions and more Business Aviation issues
  • Not very local.
  • Some more expertise of the group would be highly appreciated"
  • Feels that its just right the way it is now.
  • Already covers me!!!
  • new airport projects
  • I have learned to just delete that post when I see it but since is seems to be a large part of the posts I don't visit as often as I did"
  • I need to use the group more - it is one I have joined, but not spent enough time on.
  • The biggest problem is an information overload. I have no proposal to cope with that.
  • I belong to several groups and my e-mail traffic is now getting to the point that I am deleting before I read. These groups and discussions were interesting but now they are getting a bit much.
  • I like the email updates so mostly read those for Biz Av related news.  I may use the BAN web-site more, but haven't had time lately to explore the site or use it on a regular basis.  Thanks.
  • Thought provoking material, that will increase the aviation industry
  • Keep it going the way are doing it now.
  • "Hi I tried the LinkedIn login for the website, but it gave me an error. Anyway, glad to help to figure that out.. For the rest, for me BAN on LinkedIn is very useful to get to know the industry, i'm a newby for a technological background, but I had never anything to do with aviation.
  • Keep up the good work, it's worth it! Best Ward"
  • "To be honest I struggle to keep on top of my Group memberships, so it's about ease of use, relevance, contacts etc. As a result of this survey I will be checking out the site again. Good luck Tim"
  • “I have not been involved heavily in the past to BAN but am still viewing information that is posted.  I have the intent to use BAN more in the future as my aviation growth has me more interested in business aviation.  I feel this group is a great community and managed well due to this is the only group I am a part of that asks for the members reponses.  The others are visible and active in posts, but none ask our thoughts/opinions.  “
  • I feel like the group is full of networkers more than people actually engaged in business aviation. It's like a tradeshow with 2,000 vendors all trying to sell to the 20 attendees that paid to be at the show.

DISCUSSIONS Tab:

  • More specific networks aligned with types that we operate - mx and ops issues"
  • "International procedures & handling Simulator training Insurance, Flight planning"
  • more discussion less 'new' announcements
  • We need to focus on promoting the value of our industry to the general business population.
  • Would like to see more debate and participation in debate, of more relevant topics that impact on the business aviation scene globally.
  • A bit more information on market trends, companies news/trends, people moving from one company to another...
  • More content about disruptive things happening in the industry / changing the status quo. Inevitably this will lead to negative comments though from those being disrupted.
  • "I am tired of people trying to find drum up business or promote their business but mask if as asking questions or looking for info which just happens to point to their business.
  • Fraudulent or fake listings.
  • More flight operations discussions, less people looking to network.
  • I'd like more useful information regarding aviation marketing and aviation marketing executives.
  • More business leads would be nice - especially for the high end aircraft such as G650 and B200.
  • Less theoretical stuff..like, "what would you or your flight department do if..."
  • News from Airliners that offer different services to Latin America.
  • Aircraft comparatives
  • I'd like to see profiles on various flight departments - how many planes, type of planes, how many pilots, are all the pilots typed/or qualified on all the planes, maintenance program, scheduling, who handles insurance - registration & licensing - taxes, etc.
  • I'm in Customer Service for an FBO that services business aviation.  I'm particularly interested in how to improve my effectiveness.
  • Since I deal with Aviation Law in my practice - items relating to sales/purchases of aircraft interests and legal issues.
  • Would like to see more group interaction and battle field cooperation. More regional subgroups will also be in place.
  • Id like to see more technical informations and products reports
  • More of the current events expecially with the latest biz jets and newest breakthroughs.
  • More FBO related articles, what FBOs can do to help businesses.
  • more business opportunities
  • "A minority referral network within the Aviation Business Network."
  • More 'good' discussion
  • Opportunities for business leads, procurement, etc.

JOBS Tab:

  • I would see more jobs offers
  • better job openings
  • Salary survey would help. Networks for contract pilots based on aircraft type and currency.
  • "These endless job listings of companies who want you to pay are boring.
  • More jobs opportunities in Aviation area.
  • More job opportunities for experts, especially international ones, should appear on this network.
  • "For those of us who have been unemployed for a long time, real job postings would be greatly helpful.  Not all of us are executive level.
  • Would like to see an interactive section for jobs placing us in contact with companies hiring at the ""worker bee"" level."
  • More Flight Attendant Job Opportunities, especially contract work.
  • "I am a FAA Mechanical DER & I am interested in interested in Aviation DER work.
  • "More BUSINESS AVIATION jobs - without a membership fee. No airline jobs etc.
  • "the recruiters to place real job adverts or atleast give you hope that they are matching your resume with jobs available.
  • I would like to see more in the way of job and business opportunity news.
  • Aviation Jobs for USA citizens, pilots, airline, fbo, charter and airport management, especially airports.

Miscellaneous comments:

  • Air travel
  • groups about CARGO
  • I don't use LinkedIn every really
  • "Aviation Business Operation duty and responsibility.
  • Thanks
  • Andrew"
  • I think this is a great venue for Business Aviation as it put us in contact with peers in the industry all over the world as well as in different positions.  It is informative and useful in job hunting as well as getting other professionals' opinions on different topics.  I also love that it does link me to other professions and professional people who are working to make life better for themselves and others.
  • I guess I forgot I was a part of this network. I'll take a look at it today. I was looking for job opportunities for pilots or at airports in California.
  • anything good for my career
  • Reduce the advertisements buddy, you may be earning. Its really annoying.
  • discussions to be kept brief"
  • Making sure that job ads are where they should be,  not mixed in with the discussion items and the discussion items are valid -not someone's  musings for a college paper.
  • sharing of business opportunities
